We recently returned to the Colmore business district in Birmingham city to carry out a deep cleansing programme. As one of the busiest commercial areas in Birmingham, with Colmore Row as the city’s most prestigious business address, the footfall on the pavements in this area is very high day and night.
In addition to many large companies doing business in the area, the Colmore District is also a popular evening destination and is home to the Michelin Star restaurant Purnell’s, as well as many other restaurants, pubs and theatres, along with coffee shops and galleries. It’s no wonder that surface dirt builds up quickly in between cleans. On behalf of Colmore BID, we return to the area on a regular basis to help keep the area looking its best for the huge numbers of people who pass through there each day.
To deep clean the pavements in the Colmore business district, we used our specialist floor skating system. First, we skated the surfaces using 100-degree steam to loosen surface dirt and blast it away. We then focused on removing stubborn chewing gum that had been trodden into the ground over time. The finished result was that the paving stones were restored to their intended colour and the area looked much cleaner and tidier.
In order to cause as little disruption as possible, all deep cleansing work was carried out overnight. Following the completion of the project, our clients Colmore BID were very happy with the results and we will return to the area soon to provide more scheduled street cleaning services.
