With festive preparations in full swing, councils around the country will be planning the arrival of the much-loved Christmas markets. And Birmingham is no different – which is why we’ve been working with the City Council to make the area around New Street and the Christmas market site look fantastic.
New Street is a very busy area with the central Birmingham station only being a stone’s throw away. Consequently, the district has a high level of footfall and gets dirty quickly.
The streets in the area are paved in York stone, which is a tricky customer to clean due to its distinctive patina. That’s why we avoided aggressive, chemical methods of cleaning and used our specialist 100 per cent steam equipment to remove a wealth of dirt, chewing gum and food and drink debris.
Through our sister company, Ramora Maintenance, we also cleaned and painted the security barriers that sit at the market’s entrance, offering a fresh and vibrant feel. Through our hard work, the area around Birmingham’s New Street is now looking fantastic and ready for the festivities of Christmas.
