For over twenty years, Ramora Facilities Management has been recognised as the UK’s leading licensed and approved external cleaning company, associated with some of Europe’s biggest cities and businesses.
We have gained considerable experience in aesthetic cleaning, helping towns and cities to look their best, as well as removing chewing gum and graffiti from public areas, but in recent months, in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have switched our attention to use our knowledge, experience and fleet of pressure steam washers to assist in the decontaminating and sanitising of public areas from the virus that has claimed over 45,000 deaths in the UK alone.
Changing our Deep Cleaning Practices
In order to play our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19, we have completely rewritten our risk assessments and method statements, ensuring that everything we do is completely in line with up to date government guidelines for COVID-19. Our deep cleaning teams operate on a lone worker basis, wear extensive PPE and stick to safe social distancing when working.
Through our existing network of contracts, in the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak, we were able to undertake a series of large scale trials in Birmingham and Manchester, testing the effectiveness of our new deep cleaning processes in city centres, focusing on areas and surfaces subject to high levels of contact from the general public.
Our new deep cleaning approach consists of three steps:
- Decontamination – we spray high contact surfaces with a decontaminating foam, made up of a low concentration of sodium hypochlorite and LAO.
- Sanitisation – we sanitise the surface using our pressure steam cleaning equipment, using a temperature of 100 degrees and 7500 psi pressure to break up any remaining chemicals and provide a second layer of defence against the virus. Sanitisation can only occur at a temperature of over 76 degrees.
- Deep cleaning – to ensure a completely sterile environment, we provide a final deep steam clean.
We focus on highly touched areas including cash and car park payment machines, pedestrian crossing points, public seating areas, bike and general railings, and bus shelters.
Ramora are geared up and ready to undertake decontamination, sanitisation and deep cleaning services 24/7 and 365 days a year to provide confidence and reassurance for frontline workers, general workers, businesses and the general public, reducing risks as much as practicably possible.
We can assure our clients that as well as helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and killing other harmful bacterias, our processes are completely environmentally friendly.
